Which do you like better and for what animals? We have many of both, but probably more wood than wire. Coons go on wire and rats will be on wire along with coyotes (only have 1 coyote board).

Wood for coon, coyotes, cats, fox and mink. Wire for rats.

I have used wire as long as I can remember. Not by choice, it's just what I grew up using. I've come across some pretty good deals on wire stretchers at farm sales and auctions. You can usually pick up a couple dozen for less than $5.

I have thought about going to some garage sales this year looking for traps and/or possible trapping things. I am sure if I went to enough, I would find something useful trapping pretty cheap.

I use wood on every thing except muskrats. I use wood on the large Rats18" or more and wire on the rest
