I dont have a pictorial, but I will do my best to explain my Red Fox setup. Step one- Find a location with red fox sign. Step two- Dig or use dirthole pusher to make a dirthole. Step three- Get out a trap (my favorite is a Victor 1.75 offset jaw) and set the trap. Step four- Bed your trap and make sure it does not move or wobble, then sift dry dirt over it. Step five- Apply your favorite Red Fox bait and/or lure (which are my own). Step six- Make sure the area is as natural as when you got there and apply Red Fox urine. This is a very, very, basic explanation of how I trap Red fox. I also catch gray fox, coyotes, opossums, and skunks in this set. There are many other fine details that would be worthless to list here, as everyone is going to have different details, but many trappers use a similar setup as above. If you dont catch anything in a couple weeks, and have a limited amount of traps and/or time to check them, consider moving to a new location, but if you do have the extra traps/time, I like to leave them, as I may go a couple weeks without a fox or coyote, and then catch a couple within a few days. Please feel free to list your own with or without pictures. Happy trapping!
